Werner Gysi, born in 1949 and educated as an Electronics Engineer in Switzerland, immigrated to Canada in 1981. In 1988 he acquired the Beemasters Certificate at the Simon Fraser University and later on while living near Salmon Arm the Radio Amateur License. Together with his wife, they were running the Gooly Mooly Art Farm for over 30 years with up to 30 bee colonies and a large fruit/berry/vegetable production. He published the book Harmonic Farming: a love style in 1995 and during the same year was invited to a one-hour interview on CBC National Radio. He then published another 4 titles, some available in pdf and paperback format (please use the “All books” button above to see more information for each title using the “read more” tab). From 2001 to 2007 Werner held a position as a science teacher at a private boarding school in Montreux, Switzerland. In 2013 Werner left the homestead to set out on a circumnavigation of the globe for six years. During the Covid pandemic he circumnavigated Vancouver Island and then left for a second Circumnavigation of the globe heading West. In Richards Bay, South Africa he found his Soulmate, sailed the boat up to Halifax and put it up for sale. He lives in Port Alberni now. His latest publication is titled: Even though five of the six children from his first relationship live outside of Canada, Werner enjoyed seeing them all grow up in the interior of BC while living at the homestead. As of this writing he is grandfather to eleven children in Canada, Switzerland and Denmark.
Werner takes pleasure in the outdoors and playing the guitar for his own entertainment. When able, he takes trips to explore Vancouver Island.
